Flash Fiction: Life in a Tank

Life in a tank is pretty funky. No predators only fish droppings to turn the gills green. Don’t swallow, you’ll be fine. Blowing in the ship is prohibited, the big fish bite. The cats can’t get in, taunt them all you like. Watch out for paws. On occasion the fur swims. Never for long. The big mammals start screeching and flapping about. Ignore them, they are on our side, except for the little ones, keep your eyes on them. Nasty critters. Always fouling up the water with sticky grime and objects. Fight belly up. I hope you’ll enjoy your stay and not be fated to wind up in the flush like the last goldfish. You all look the same, Bob 23.
